Law, patent and trademark office was founded by Dr. Eugen Zathurecky in 2001. The office provides legal services and assistance particularly in the area of intellectual property law, commercial law, civil and family law, labour law and criminal law.

As it follows from its title, the office accentuates in legal services particularly within the area of copyright, trademarks, appellation of origin, business names, know-how, business secrets, unregistered signs, corporate identity, Internet domains, patents, supplementary protection certificates, utility models, industrial designs, topographies of semiconductor products.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in 1982. He worked as a judge at the District Court and since 1993 at the Regional Court in Banska Bystrica.

On his return from the USA in 1996, where he participated in Study program, he became director of the legal and legislative department of Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic. Act on topographies of semiconductor products, Act on patents and supplementary protection certificates and amendment of the Trademark Act were prepared under his auspices. He is also author of the annotation of these acts.

He represented the Slovak Republic on the meetings of the Standing Committee on Trademarks, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications and Standing Committee on Patents of World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland in 1996 - 2001. He participated on Diplomatic Conference on Revision of European Patent Convention in Munich, Germany.

He is co-author of the book "Trademarks" published by the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic in 2001 and regularly publishes articles dedicated to area of protection of intellectual property rights.

He is the author of the commentary to the Act on Patents which parts have been published in the journal "Intellectual Property".

He gives the lectures on Intellectual property right as the external professor at the Faculty of Law of University of Mathias Bell in Banska Bystrica.

As a member of the Slovak Bar Association he specialises in intellectual property law, civil law, commercial law and international private law. Since December 2001, after passing the relevant exams, he has been authorised to represent in the proceedings before the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic.
